Dr. Erin Ziegler

Dr. Erin Ziegler (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Toronto Metropolitan University and a primary health care nurse practitioner. She is the clinical lead of a transgender primary care program with Queen Square Family Health Team. Dr Ziegler's research focuses on exploring barriers and facilitators to healthcare within the LGBTQ2S population; nursing education; and advanced practice nursing. She is a faculty member with the Canadian Centre for Advanced Practice Nursing Research. Dr. Ziegler co-developed the online eLearning module Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Nursing (www.soginursing.ca) which aims to improve nurses and healthcare providers' understanding of cultural humility when caring for LGBTQ2S individuals.
With the HOPE Centre I plan on collaborating with fellow reserachers, clinicians and community members to explore the healthcare expereinces of transgender indiviudals.
