HOPE Centre members are a crucial part in our work to promote the health of sexual and gender minority communities. With their engagement in research, community and HOPE events/initiatives, our members create a broader network of SGM health advancement.

Members are encouraged to:
Collaborate on community-engaged research and knowledge mobilization initiatives that address health disparities and promote social justice.
Contribute to interdisciplinary discussions, workshops, and projects that support inclusive and evidence-based practices.
Foster connections between academic and community partners to enhance visibility and impact of sexual and gender minority health research.
Mentor and support students and emerging scholars interested in related research areas.
Disseminate and translate knowledge through publications, presentations, and community outreach, acknowledging the Centre’s support and affiliation.

Membership in the HOPE Centre is open to researchers, students from TMU, and community members actively involved in sexual and gender minority health or TMU. We encourage applications from sexual and gender minority people, and particularly sexual and gender minority people from equity deserving communities (e.g., BIPOC people, people with disabilities). We also encourage applications from people who are members of community based organizations who serve SGM communities and/or members of the TMU community engaged in SGM health.

Attend Centre meetings.
Acknowledge the Centre in publications resulting from affiliated work (all such publications must be reviewed and approved by the Centre’s Steering Committee).

Opportunity to use the HOPE Centre’s name on grant applications and in professional contexts with prior written approval from the HOPE Centre leadership.
Access shared HOPE Centre resources (e.g., meeting rooms, equipment, administrative support for grant proposals) within reasonable limits.
Apply for grants offered by the HOPE Centre to its members.

If at any time you wish to step down from the HOPE Centre, you may withdraw by providing written notice to the HOPE Centre leadership. Your withdrawal will not affect any ongoing partnerships unless otherwise discussed. The Centre will confirm your withdrawal in writing. All information you have provided as part of your membership will continue to be stored securely and treated confidentially, and will only be used in accordance with HOPE Centre policies. No personal data will be shared without your explicit consent.
